American Public Educatio provides online and on-campus postsecondary education to students through its subsidiaries: American Public University System, Inc. (APUS), Rasmussen College, LLC, which is referred to as Rasmussen University (RU), and National Education Seminars, Inc., which is referred to as Hondros College of Nursing (HCN). APUS provides online postsecondary education to adult learners, serving the needs of the military, military-affiliated, public service and service-minded communities. RU provides nursing- and health sciences-focused postsecondary education to students. HCN provides nursing education to students to serve the needs of the nursing and healthcare communities. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing
share price, and the resulting changing APEI market cap history over the course of time is important for investors
interested in comparing APEI's market cap history versus its peers.
Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at
