| Bonanza Creek Energy is an exploration and production company focused on the acquisition, development, and extraction of oil and associated natural gas in the U.S. Co.'s oil and assets and operations are concentrated in the rural portions of the Wattenberg Field in Colorado. Co.'s development and extraction activities are primarily directed at the horizontal development of the Niobrara and Codell formations in the Denver-Julesburg Basin. We show 19 historical shares outstanding datapoints in our BCEI shares outstanding history coverage, used to compute BCEI market cap on those dates. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing share price, and the resulting changing BCEI market cap history over the course of time is important for investors interested in comparing BCEI's market cap history versus its peers. Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much.
