Zovio is a provider of postsecondary education services through its academic institutions. Ashford University® offers associate's, bachelor's and master's degree programs online and is comprised of four colleges: the Forbes School of Business and Technology™, the College of Education, the College of Health, Human Services and Science and the College of Liberal Arts. University of the Rockiessm provides master's and doctoral degree programs in the social and behavioral sciences. Classes are presented in an online format, and students at University of the Rockies attend via the institution's accessible online platform, which is also available through its mobile applications. We show 38 historical shares outstanding datapoints in our BPI shares outstanding history coverage, used to compute BPI market cap on those dates.
Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing
share price, and the resulting changing BPI market cap history over the course of time is important for investors
interested in comparing BPI's market cap history versus its peers.
Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at
a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much. Of course, that is a completely meaningless comparison without also knowing how many shares outstanding there are for each of the two companies,
and then calculating their respective market caps. Comparing the share price of BPI versus a peer is one thing; comparing
