Capricor Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on the development of transformative cell and exosome-based therapeutics for treating Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a rare form of muscular dystrophy which results in muscle degeneration and premature death, and other diseases with unmet medical needs. Co.'s main program, CAP-1002, is focused on the development and commercialization of a cell therapy comprised of cardiosphere-derived cells, which are an endogenous population of stromal cells isolated from donated cells of healthy human hearts for the treatment of DMD.
