China Biologic Products Holdings is a biopharmaceutical company principally engaged in the research, development, manufacturing and sales of human plasma-based biopharmaceutical products, or plasma products, in China. All of Co.'s plasma products and the placenta polypeptide product are prescription medicines administered in the form of injections. Co.'s primary products are human albumin and immunoglobulin for intravenous injection (IVIG). Albumin has been used to treat critically ill patients by assisting the maintenance of adequate blood volume and pressure. IVIG is used for certain disease prevention and treatment by enhancing specific immunity.
