| Global X China Consumer is an open-end management investment company. The Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Solactive China Consumer Index (the Underlying Index). The Fund generally seeks to replicate the Index, but may at times invest in a representative sample of securities that collectively has an investment profile similar to the Index and as a result may or may not hold all securities that are included in the Index. As of Oct 31 2014, the Fund had total assets of $164,262,322 and its total investments were $152,172,917. We show 254 historical shares outstanding datapoints in our CHIQ shares outstanding history coverage, used to compute CHIQ market cap on those dates. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing share price, and the resulting changing CHIQ market cap history over the course of time is important for investors interested in comparing CHIQ's market cap history versus its peers. Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much. Of course, that is a completely meaningless comparison without also knowing how many shares outstanding there are for each of the two companies, and then calculating their respective market caps. Comparing the share price of CHIQ versus a peer is one thing; comparing CHIQ market cap versus a peer is a completely different story.
