Digimarc is a provider of digital watermarking solutions, which enable means of automatic identification. These digital identities can be automatically identified by an enabled ecosystem of industrial scanners, smartphones and other interfaces. The technology features: Digimarc watermarks, which is a data carrier that can provide a digital identity to media objects; Digimarc Discover, which is a software program for computing devices and network interfaces that recognizes and decodes digital identities applied to media objects; and Digimarc Verify, which is a suite of software tools used to inspect and verify that the digital identity applied via Digimarc watermarks to media objects. We show 57 historical shares outstanding datapoints in our DMRC shares outstanding history coverage, used to compute DMRC market cap on those dates.
Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing
share price, and the resulting changing DMRC market cap history over the course of time is important for investors
interested in comparing DMRC's market cap history versus its peers.
Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at
a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much. Of course, that is a completely meaningless comparison without also knowing how many shares outstanding there are for each of the two companies,
