Duke Energy is a holding company. Through its direct and indirect subsidiaries, Co. is an energy company. Co.'s segments include: Electric Utilities and Infrastructure, which provides retail electric service through the generation, transmission, distribution and sale of electricity to its customers within the Southeast and Midwest regions of the U.S.; Gas Utilities and Infrastructure, which conducts natural gas operations and also owns, operates and has investments in various pipeline transmission and natural gas storage facilities; and Commercial Renewables, which primarily acquires, develops, builds, operates and owns wind and solar renewable generation throughout the continental U.S. We show 45 historical shares outstanding datapoints in our DUK shares outstanding history coverage, used to compute DUK market cap on those dates.
