Essent Group is a holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. provides private mortgage insurance and reinsurance for mortgages secured by residential properties. Mortgage insurance facilitates the sale of low down payment mortgage loans into the secondary mortgage market, primarily to government-sponsored enterprises. Co.'s products and services include: mortgage insurance, which includes primary mortgage insurance, pool insurance and master policy; contract underwriting, which provides contract underwriting services on a limited basis; and Bermuda-based insurance and reinsurance, which provides mortgage-related insurance and reinsurance through its subsidiary, Essent Reinsurance Ltd.
