Enviva procures wood fiber and processes it into utility-grade wood pellets and load the finished wood pellets into railcars, trucks and barges for transportation to deep-water marine terminals, where they are received, stored and loaded onto oceangoing vessels for delivery under long-term, take-or-pay off-take contracts to Co.'s customers principally in the U.K., Europe and Japan. Co. owns and operates industrial-scale wood pellet production plants located in the Mid-Atlantic and Gulf Coast regions of the U.S. Co.'s wood pellets are used as a substitute for coal in both dedicated and co-fired power generation and combined heat and power plants.. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing
share price, and the resulting changing EVA market cap history over the course of time is important for investors
interested in comparing EVA's market cap history versus its peers.
Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at
a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much. Of course, that is a completely meaningless comparison without also knowing how many shares outstanding there are for each of the two companies,
