Genasys is a provider of communications hardware and software solutions designed to alert, inform, and protect people. Genasys Emergency Management (GEM) is Co.'s software-as-a-service product platform that includes GEM Public Safety, which enables State, Local and Education customers to send information to at-risk individuals or groups when an emergency occurs; GEM Enterprise, which enables businesses and organizations to send communications to at-risk employees, contractors, visitors, or groups; Zonehaven, which serves both first responders and the jurisdictions they protect; and National Emergency Warning System, which provides multichannel public safety notifications and instructions. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing
share price, and the resulting changing GNSS market cap history over the course of time is important for investors
interested in comparing GNSS's market cap history versus its peers.
Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at
a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much. Of course, that is a completely meaningless comparison without also knowing how many shares outstanding there are for each of the two companies,
