Kintara Therapeutics is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company. Co.'s two primary candidates are: VAL-083, a validated, DNA-targeting agent, for the treatment of drug-resistant solid tumors such as glioblastoma and potentially other solid tumors, including ovarian cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, and diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma; and REM-001, a late-stage photodynamic therapy (PDT) for the treatment of cutaneous metastatic breast cancer. PDT is a treatment that uses light sensitive compounds, or photosensitizers, that, when exposed to specific wavelengths of light, act as a catalyst to produce a form of reactive oxygen that induces local tumor cell death.
