Loral Space & Communications is a holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. is engaged in satellite-based communications services. Co. participates in satellite services operations through its ownership interest in Telesat Canada (Telesat), a satellite operator. Telesat has the following services: Broadcast, which includes direct-to-home, video distribution and contribution, and occasional use services; Enterprise, which includes telecommunication carrier and integrator services, maritime and aeronautical services, and direct-to-consumer broadband services; and Consulting and Other, in which Telesat is a consultant in establishing, operating and upgrading satellite systems.
