Monroe Capital is an externally managed non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. Co. is a finance company focused on providing financing solutions primarily to lower middle-market companies in the United States and Canada. Co. provides customized financing solutions focused primarily on senior secured, junior secured and unitranche secured (a combination of senior secured and junior secured debt in the same facility in which it syndicates a first out portion of the loan to an investor and retains a last out portion of the loan) debt and, to a lesser extent, unsecured subordinated debt and equity, including equity co-investments in preferred and common stock, and warrants. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing
share price, and the resulting changing MRCC market cap history over the course of time is important for investors
interested in comparing MRCC's market cap history versus its peers.
Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at
a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much. Of course, that is a completely meaningless comparison without also knowing how many shares outstanding there are for each of the two companies,
and then calculating their respective market caps. Comparing the share price of MRCC versus a peer is one thing; comparing
