| NextDecade is engaged in development activities related to the liquefaction and sale of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and the capture and storage of CO2 emissions. Co. focuses on its development activities on the Rio Grande LNG terminal facility at the Port of Brownsville in southern Texas (the Terminal) a carbon capture and storage project at the Terminal and other carbon capture and storage projects with third-party industrial source facilities. We show 36 historical shares outstanding datapoints in our NEXT shares outstanding history coverage, used to compute NEXT market cap on those dates. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing share price, and the resulting changing NEXT market cap history over the course of time is important for investors interested in comparing NEXT's market cap history versus its peers. Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much.
