Odyssey Marine Exploration discovers, validates and develops seafloor resources. Co. has mineral portfolio that includes projects controlled by Co. and other projects in which Co. is a minority owner and service provider. Co. provides mineral exploration, project development and marine services to clients (subsidiary companies, other companies and/or governments). Co. conducts deep-ocean projects including deep-ocean resource explorations, ship and airplane wreck explorations, archaeological recovery and conservation and insurance documentation. Co.'s subsea project portfolio contains several projects in various stages of development across different mineral resources. We show 31 historical shares outstanding datapoints in our OMEX shares outstanding history coverage, used to compute OMEX market cap on those dates.
Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing
share price, and the resulting changing OMEX market cap history over the course of time is important for investors
interested in comparing OMEX's market cap history versus its peers.
Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at
a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much. Of course, that is a completely meaningless comparison without also knowing how many shares outstanding there are for each of the two companies,
