| Parsley Energy is a holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. is an independent oil and natural gas company focused on the acquisition, development, exploration and production of unconventional oil and natural gas properties in the Permian Basin. The Permian Basin is located in west Texas and southeastern New Mexico. Co.'s properties are located in two sub areas of the Permian Basin, the Midland and Delaware Basins, where Co. focuses on horizontal development drilling. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing share price, and the resulting changing PE market cap history over the course of time is important for investors interested in comparing PE's market cap history versus its peers.
