Public Service Enterprise Group is a holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. is engaged in the energy industry. Co.'s two reportable segments, its principal direct wholly owned subsidiaries, are: Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) and PSEG Power LLC (PSEG Power). PSE&G is engaged principally in the transmission of electricity and distribution of electricity and natural gas in certain areas of New Jersey. PSEG Power is a multi-regional energy supply company that integrates the operations of its merchant nuclear and fossil generating assets with its fuel supply functions through energy sales in energy markets primarily in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic U.S. We show 40 historical shares outstanding datapoints in our PEG shares outstanding history coverage, used to compute PEG market cap on those dates.

Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at
a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much. Of course, that is a completely meaningless comparison without also knowing how many shares outstanding there are for each of the two companies,
