iShares S&P U.S. Preferred Stock Index Fund is an open-end management investment company. The Fund seeks investment results that correspond to the price and yield performance of the S&P Preferred Stock Index (the Index). The Index measures the performance of a select group of preferred stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. The Index includes preferred stocks with market capitalizations over $100 million that meet minimum price, trading volume and other requirements determined by the Index provider. As of Mar 31 2015, the Fund's total assets were $13,142,955,797 and its investment portfolio was valued at $13,095,576,507. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing
share price, and the resulting changing PFF market cap history over the course of time is important for investors
interested in comparing PFF's market cap history versus its peers.
Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at
a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much. Of course, that is a completely meaningless comparison without also knowing how many shares outstanding there are for each of the two companies,
and then calculating their respective market caps. Comparing the share price of PFF versus a peer is one thing; comparing
