Penns Woods Bancorp is a bank holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Jersey Shore State Bank and Luzerne Bank (collectively, the Banks), Co. is engaged in commercial and retail banking which includes the acceptance of time, savings, and demand deposits, the funding of commercial, consumer, and mortgage loans, and safe deposit services. Co.'s business has consisted primarily of managing and supervising the Banks. Services provided by the Banks include making secured and unsecured business and consumer loans that include financing commercial transactions as well as construction and residential mortgage loans and revolving credit loans with overdraft protection.
