Pyxus International is a leaf tobacco merchant engaged in purchasing, processing, packing, storing, and shipping tobacco to manufacturers of cigarettes and other consumer tobacco products. Co. also provides agronomy knowledge for growing leaf tobacco. Co.'s tobacco is primarily purchased directly from suppliers with small quantities still purchased at auction. Co. purchases seeds, fertilizer, pesticides, and other products related to growing tobacco, which Co. is contractually obligated to purchase. Co. also sells a small amount of processed but unthreshed flue-cured and burley tobacco in loose-leaf and bundle form to certain customers.
