Ready Capital Corporation is a multi-strategy real estate finance company that originates, acquires, finances and services small- to medium-sized balance commercial loans. Its segments include LMM Commercial Real Estate and Small Business Lending. The LMM Commercial Real Estate segment originates lower-to-middle-market commercial real estate (LMM) loans across the full life cycle of an LMM property including construction, bridge, stabilized and agency loan origination channels through its wholly owned subsidiary, ReadyCap Commercial, LLC. These originated loans are generally held-for-investment or placed into securitization structures. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing
share price, and the resulting changing RC market cap history over the course of time is important for investors
interested in comparing RC's market cap history versus its peers.
Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at
a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much. Of course, that is a completely meaningless comparison without also knowing how many shares outstanding there are for each of the two companies,
