| The Gold Miners ETF Market Vectors ETF Fund is an open-end investment management company. The Fund seeks to replicate as closely as possible, the price and yield performance of the NYSE Arca Gold Miners Index (GDM). The Index provides exposure to publicly traded companies worldwide involved primarily in the mining for gold, representing a diversified blend of small, mid and large-capitalization stocks. As of Dec 31 2013, the Fund's total assets and investment portfolio were $6,954,958,352 and $6,657,983,184, respectively. We show 180 historical shares outstanding datapoints in our SLX shares outstanding history coverage, used to compute SLX market cap on those dates. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing share price, and the resulting changing SLX market cap history over the course of time is important for investors interested in comparing SLX's market cap history versus its peers. Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much.
