| United States 12 Month Oil Fund is a commodity pool that issues limited partnership interests traded on the NYSE Arca, Inc. United States Commodity Funds LLC is the general partner of Co. and is responsible for the management of Co. The net assets of Co. consist primarily of investments in futures contracts for light, sweet crude oil, other types of crude oil, diesel-heating oil, gasoline, natural gas, and other petroleum-based fuels that are traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange, ICE Futures or other U.S. and foreign exchanges (collectively, Oil Futures Contracts) and other oil-related investments such as cash-settled options on Oil Futures Contracts and forward contracts for oil. We show 60 historical shares outstanding datapoints in our USL shares outstanding history coverage, used to compute USL market cap on those dates. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing share price, and the resulting changing USL market cap history over the course of time is important for investors interested in comparing USL's market cap history versus its peers. Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much.
