Vanguard Long-Term Government Bond Index (the Fund) is an open-end management investment company. The Fund seeks to track the performance of a market-weighted government bond index with a long-term dollar-weighted average maturity. The fund is designed to track the performance of the Barclays Capital U.S. Long Government Float Adjusted Index. It invests by sampling the index. All of the fund's investments will be selected through the sampling process, and at least 80% of the fund's assets will be invested in bonds included in the index. As of Aug 31 2013, the Fund's investments portfolio was valued at $106,333,000.
