| SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Equipment & Services is an open-end investment management company. The Fund seeks to replicate as closely as possible the total return performance of the S&P Oil & Gas Equipment & Services Select Industry Index. The S&P Oil & Gas Equipment & Services Select Industry Index represents the oil and gas equipment and services sub-industry portion of the S&P Total Markets Index. The Oil & Gas Equipment Index is a modified equal weight index. As of June 30 2015, the Fund's total assets and investment portfolio totaled $304,308,730 and $304,058,223, respectively. We show 145 historical shares outstanding datapoints in our XES shares outstanding history coverage, used to compute XES market cap on those dates. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing share price, and the resulting changing XES market cap history over the course of time is important for investors interested in comparing XES's market cap history versus its peers. Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much.
