SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production is an open-end investment management company. The Fund seeks to replicate as closely as possible the total return performance of the S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Select Industry Index. The S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Select Industry Index represents the oil and gas exploration and production sub-industry portion of the S&P Total Markets Index. The Oil & Gas Exploration Index is a modified equal weight index. As of June 30 2015, the Fund's total assets and investment portfolio totaled $1,611,503,652 and $1,609,840,710, respectively. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing
share price, and the resulting changing XOP market cap history over the course of time is important for investors
interested in comparing XOP's market cap history versus its peers.
Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at
a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much. Of course, that is a completely meaningless comparison without also knowing how many shares outstanding there are for each of the two companies,
