PHI provides transportation services to, from, and among offshore facilities for customers engaged in the oil and gas exploration, development, and production industry, primarily in North America and to a lesser extent in West Africa, Trinidad, and the Middle East. Co. provides air medical transportation services for hospitals and emergency service agencies, as well as aircraft maintenance and repair services to third parties in North America. At Dec 31 2017, Co. owned or operated 245 aircraft domestically and internationally, 133 of which were dedicated to its Oil and Gas segment, 106 of which were dedicated to its Air Medical segment, and six of which were dedicated to other operations. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing
share price, and the resulting changing PHII market cap history over the course of time is important for investors
interested in comparing PHII's market cap history versus its peers.
Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at
