| First Trust NYSE Arca Biotechnology Index Fund is an open-end management company. The Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield of an equity index called the NYSE Arca Biotechnology Index (the Index). The Index is an equal dollar-weighted index designed to measure the performance of a cross section of companies in the biotechnology industry that are primarily involved in the use of biological processes to develop products or provide services. As of Dec 31 2013, the Fund's total assets were $983,610,857 and the Fund's investment portfolio was valued at $969,483,653. We show 194 historical shares outstanding datapoints in our QQXT shares outstanding history coverage, used to compute QQXT market cap on those dates. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing share price, and the resulting changing QQXT market cap history over the course of time is important for investors interested in comparing QQXT's market cap history versus its peers.
