ProShares UltraShort Industrials is an open-end management investment company. The Fund seeks daily investment results that correspond to twice the inverse daily performance of the Dow Jones U.S. Industrials Index (the Index). The Index measures the performance of the industrial industry of the United States equity market. The Fund takes positions in securities and/or financial instruments that, in combination, should have similar daily return characteristics as -200% of the daily return of the Index. As of May 31 2013, the Fund's total assets and investment portfolio totaled $5,839,461 and $5,829,059, respectively. Understanding the changing numbers of shares outstanding, the changing
share price, and the resulting changing SIJ market cap history over the course of time is important for investors
interested in comparing SIJ's market cap history versus its peers.
Many "beginner" or "novice" investors will look at one stock trading at a price of $10 per share and another trading at
a price of $20 per share and think the latter company is worth twice as much. Of course, that is a completely meaningless comparison without also knowing how many shares outstanding there are for each of the two companies,
